Yoga classes offered at the Alaska Rock Gym are varied over a range of styles and intensities; from Evolv-style taught by Kim Greeff, to Iyengar influenced, to gentle Vinyasa flows for beginners. Click on the schedule tab to see the types of classes and when they are offered. Classes are limited to 22 participants, pre-registration is encouraged and payment for classes may be made on-line. Mats, belts, blocks and other props are provided.
Monday - Friday - 6:15 to 7:15am
Kevin teaches Mon/Wed/Fri, and Melissa teaches Tues/Thurs. This mixed level class incorporates Yoga Tune Up principles with the dynamics of Vinyasa yoga. Explore the link between breath and functional flow while improving joint mobility, core strength and body awareness through unconventional Asana, mini-Vinyasa and self-massage techniques.
Mon/Wed/Fri – 9:00 to 10:00am
Evolve Yoga with Melissa on Mondays and Kim on Wed/Fri. An integrated approach that develops physical, mental and emotional awareness through poses and specific breathing practices. Students gain strength, flexibility and energy. The progression of each class is based on the abilities of students present; appropriate for all levels.
Tues/Thurs - 9:30 to 11:00am
Yoga Tune Up with Emily on Tuesdays and Melissa on Thursdays. This class combines elements of yoga, conscious corrective exercise and self-massage to tap into the body's own intelligence. YTU helps to balance those body areas that are over-used, under-used, mis-used or abused!
Mon/Wed/Fri - 11:30am to 12:30pm
Mindful Movement with Kevin. This class features a restorative, slow flow Vinyasa which encourages a mindful presence in the various poses. Rejuvenate
the mind and body to take on the rest of the day with purpose. This class is appropriate for all levels.
Tues/Thurs - Noon to 12:30pm
High Intensity Interval Yoga with Tara. Looking to UP your heart-rate mindfully? This 30 minute class will energize the rest of your day. Boost your metabolism with traditional poses through eccentric, concentric, & isometric repetitions that turn traditional yoga poses into power poses!
Monday - 4:30 to 5:30pm
Foundation Yoga with Margo Sorum. Strengthen your posterior chain of muscles and learn correct techniques for protecting your body while doing those activities that carry you through the day. All levels, mid-intensity.
Tues/Thurs – 4:30 to 5:30pm

Hatha Yoga with a vinyasa twist. Pairing dynamic and flowing postures, Tara welcomes all ability levels to her classes. Each class begins with quiet time attuning the mind to the breath, then warms the body through dynamic alignment-based movement.
Monday thru Friday - 7:30 to 8:45pm
Gentle Yoga with Meg. Wind down for the evening, or after your climb, with a smooth flow leading to deep restorative stretching. This class explores the power of connecting movement with breathe to develop greater flexibility. All levels.
Saturday – 10:30am to noon
Weekend warrior yoga with Melissa. A 90-minute class combining Yoga Tune Up principles with the dynamics of Vinyasa yoga. Explore the link between breath
and functional flow while improving joint mobility, core strength and body awareness. This practice builds strength, agility and grace.
$10 per class, 60 or 90 minutes, for monthly/yearly pass holders.
$15 per class, 60 or 90 minutes, for walk-ins or day pass holders.
