Yoga classes at the Alaska Rock Gym are limited to 22 participants per class, pre-registration is encouraged. Mats, belts, blocks and other props are provided. Classes range from Evolv style to Iyengar influenced to gentle flow for beginers. Click on the schedule tab to see the types of classes and when they are offered. Meet the Yoga Instructors

Monday thru Friday - 6:15 to 7:15am

Mon/Wed/Fri - Iris teaches an invigorating Vinyasa style class that creates balance between strength and flexibility.

Tues/Thurs - Melissa focuses on breath, alignment and holding poses to improve flexibility, balance muscle systems and engage the central nervous system. 

Mon/Wed/Fri – 9:30 to 10:30am

Evolve Yoga with Kim. An integrated and embodied approach that develops physical, mental and emotional awareness through poses and specific breathing practices. Students gain strength, flexibility and energy. The progression of each class is based on the abilities of students present; appropriate for all levels.

Tues/Thurs - 9:30 to 11:00am

Yoga Tune Up with Kim. This class combines elements of yoga, conscious corrective exercise and self-massage to tap into the body's own intelligence. YTU helps to balance those body areas that are over-used, under-used, mis-used or abused!

Mon/Wed/Fri – noon to 1pm

An invigorating full-body flow that links body and mind through a moderately paced breathe-to-movement sequence. Excellent for climbers and athletes wishing to improve flexibility, endurance and strength. Intermediate level. Danielle teaches all sections.  

Tues/Thurs – 4:30 to 5:30pm

Mon/Wed - 6:00 to 7:00pm

Hatha Yoga with a vinyasa twist. Pairing dynamic and flowing postures, Tara welcomes all ability levels to her classes. Each class begins with quiet time attuning the mind to the breath, then warms the body through dynamic alignment-based movement while finding the sacred space of holding postures. 

Tues/Thurs - 7:00 to 8:00pm

Thea utilizes aspects of Ashtanga Flow, Kundalini, and Yin Yoga, creating a diverse class that translates into a well-rounded practice that makes the body feel whole and complete. She embraces the similarities between climbing and yoga by incorporating breath work and meditation into each session. All levels welcome.

Mon/Wed - 7:30 to 8:30pm

Gentle Yoga with Iris. Wind down for the evening, or after your climb, with a smooth flow leading to deep restorative stretching. This class explores the power of connecting movement with breathe to develop greater flexibility. All levels. 

Saturday – 10:30am to noon

Weekend warrior yoga with Iris. A 90 minute class designed around deeper stretches and longer poses. Enhance awareness of the body, and create physical and mental balance, through this challenging yoga practice. Beginners and intermediates welcome.

$10 per class, 60 or 90 minutes, for monthly/yearly pass holders.

$15 per class, 60 or 90 minutes, for walk-ins or day pass holders.

10 Class Punch Card - $110.
