In 1995, during a ‘Wilderness Recreation’ course Jeff took a scheduled field trip to the Alaska Rock Gym. He was hooked instantly. Shortly thereafter, the Alaska Rock Gym became his first employer. Most of Jeff’s work at the gym has been split between route setting and teaching.
Jeff has an intimate understanding of climbing movement and knows how to explain it so that you do too. He wants to help you become a stronger climber with efficiency is his primary focus. He can show you how to move your body so that you save your strength for the crux.
Don’t know what a “crux” is? No sweat. He can introduce you to the lingo and etiquette of climbing culture as well. Sharing his love for climbing with interested people is one of his passions. Whether you’re starting from scratch, trying to crack a specific barrier, or just looking for some extra pointers, he’d love to help.
