Halloween Roped Route Throw-Down

Roped routes only in this simple and fun comp. There will be three difficulty levels, rated as Novice, Intermediate and Open.

Routes are zone scored; the higher one gets on the route the more points are awarded. Obviously, the route gets harder as it ascends.

4 total routes to work – 3 top rope, 1 lead

Contestants have 6 days to work the route in their difficulty category, from 6:00pm Mon, Oct. 26 to 9:00pm Sat, Oct. 31.

All attempts a competitor makes on the route must be recorded. Points will be awarded for the highest score attained on the route. Number of total attempts will be deducted from the point total to break any ties.

No judges will be present; competitors are on their honor to record honestly and accurately.

Scores will be tabulated using the highest zone points recorded in each of the three difficulty categories, for men and women.

Winners announced and prizes awarded via social media in the week following the contest

No entry fee, so don’t expect great prizes – but there WILL be some prizes…

Participants can pick up a scorecard and rules explanation at the front desk starting Monday, Oct. 26 at 6:00pm. Keep your card until you are done working your route for the week, then turn in to the front desk.

Belays, Boulders, and Bat Hangs Costume Contest

We’re hosting a FREE virtual (sort of) Halloween costume contest! Just fly on in to the gym, and get a photo of yourself climbing in costume (bouldering or on a rope). To enter our contest, just tag your photos with our Bat Signal #BelaysBouldersBatHangs, and feel free to enter multiple costumes!⠀
Remember we’re judging the costumes, not the photos, so don’t overthink getting the “perfect shot.” Feel free to wing it!

Prizes will be awarded during the first week of November. The “dead”line for submissions is Midnight, Halloween night!

We’re so excited to see and share all of your crazy costumes! Good luck, and climb on!⠀
